KPJ Healthcare is proud to present our very first short film for Hari Raya Aidilfitri, themed Cahaya Syawal (Light of Syawal), in conjunction with KPJ’s 40 Years of Care.
The theme is important not only to the festivities, but also to the people who we love and care during this season of forgiveness.
Parents have always been the beacon of light to their children. A child will always look up to their parents, helping them navigate through life’s many challenges. The short film showcases this theme with beautiful ambient lighting, guiding our eyes to the struggles of one family as they await news of their daughter’s return for Raya and understanding the sacrifices that needs to be made.
One of the more poignant lines spoken in the film is said by the mother: “Mak rindukan Kakak. Tapi Mak faham pengorbanan Kakak.” It illustrates the struggles of front liner families, understanding the need to serve the nation, but also grappling with feelings of missing their loved ones during festive seasons. Though away from their families, they understand that they are always with him in spirit.
In the context for patients, the doctors and staff members are their light when seeking for treatment of care. Hope is brought to them in the form of how easy it is to get the care they need. From reaching doctors through telemedicine services, to medication delivered right to their homes.
Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir dan Batin. May the light of Syawal bring joy and safety as we stay at home with our loved ones.
